The 20k 87W is not sold by Anker anymore… you might find them at retail like Best Buy, but it’s effectively discontinued 🙂
Great timing on this video! Just wanted to share a heads-up for anyone looking at the 165W Zolo (A1695).
My brand new unit (<10 battery cycles, stored properly at 50% SoC) got completely bricked on its very first charge cycle using Anker’s official 167.5W car charger (A2737). Instant black out, zero power response, and CS denied warranty over date technicalities rather than investigating a potential OVP/BMS issue between these two ecosystem devices.
Detailed technical breakdown and logs have been posted on Reddit and X for anyone considering this setup.
For me and my wife, I usually just carry a 10k charger with cable and an additional 5k charger for travel. This mostly for during the day touring wherever we’re at and we won’t be close to a charger. Those work just fine for that. As for the laptop chargers, I’m thinking about getting one of those, but sometimes I feel that it’s overkill 99 percent of the time. I say that because we are mostly using our laptops in the hotel room. I still may get one for those long flights and we need to get some work done. All in all that’s it. Oh, I do have a travel plug for different countries. That’s it. Most people over buy on these chargers.
Anker warranty is garbage. I’ve had 3 power banks fail over the years but deleted my Amazon account years ago. Can’t get proof of purchase
Anker make reliable stuff but it’s way too big/heavy than it needs to be. I switched to Iniu and my 10000mah power banks are around 150g each and half the size of any Anker equivalent!
